Anthologica by Emiliano Ponzi

edited by Federico Cano Correa and Stefano Cipolla

The exhibition aims to create as complete a look as possible on the extraordinary work of one of the most important illustrators in the world: Emiliano Ponzi.

An entire building would not be enough to collect his entire production, so we could define it as a “summarized” anthology.

Together with the Art Director of L’Espresso Stefano Cipolla, a great friend of Emiliano, around thirty illustrations created by Ponzi in the last 3/4 years have been selected, so as to offer viewers an insight into his most recent work.

Works created for various clients have been selected from Emiliano’s infinite archive, bearing evidence of how the author approaches in a different way each time to meet the needs of the client, be it a magazine, a publishing house, a brand, a fair , a festival or himself (of which he is the strictest judge).

In fact, there are plates extrapolated from Emiliano’s personal books (The Great New York Subway Map, published by the MoMa in New York), as well as covers for Feltrinelli or Einaudi, illustrations for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Repubblica (etc…) , images commissioned by brands such as Moleskine, Barilla or Coop, the 2022 posters for the Book Fair and the Furniture Fair.

The exhibition will be open until 28 January 2024, every day from 9 to 20
